Community Programs

EnergyUnited is reaching out to the community with great programs.
EnergyUnited supports positive community events throughout its service area, from the Lexington Barbecue Festival to Boy Scout Day to blood drives among others. And many of our outstanding employees are involved in community activities such as chambers of commerce, governmental boards, home builders association, volunteer fire departments, youth sports, churches - the list goes on and on. Employees represent EnergyUnited each year in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica, Relay for Life, and they support the United Way.
Speaking Engagements

EnergyUnited's management is available to give presentations to civic clubs, government groups, schools, businesses and other groups. Topics available for discussion include economic involvement, electrical safety, energy conservation, history of rural electrification, and GreenPower, among others.

Amber Alert
EnergyUnited is a member of North Carolina's Amber Alert network - the public-private effort to use community resources to locate children who law enforcement agencies believe have been abducted and are in danger. When an Amber Alert is broadcast by a law enforcement agency, the message is sent to EnergyUnited's state-of-the-art Dispatch Center, which in turn notifies linemen, technicians, and other employees working out in the field. Armed with the information contained in the Amber Alert, EnergyUnited employees - who are usually familiar with their areas - will become eyes and ears for law enforcement agencies, reporting anything unusual they see.
EnergyUnited Sponsors Lexington BBQ Festival
EnergyUnited sponsors the crowd favorite Sand Sculpture at the
annual Barbecue Festival in Lexington, NC. Held on a Saturday
in October, the Festival attracts more than 125,000 people from
around the world. The 50-ton sculpturebegins taking shape
eight days prior to the day of the festival, and is completed
the day of the festival.
Crime Watch

Our employees constantly crisscross the 19 counties we serve. They may be in neighborhoods during the middle of the day when most people are away. If they see an emergency, suspicious or criminal activity, they immediately report it to the proper authorities. Employees render aid in emergencies when possible.
